Pastor Emeritus Jerry Wenger grew up in Mt. Gilead, OH. He studied for the ministry at Malone University and Asbury Seminary. He was also involved in ministry at Greenville College in Illinois.
He and his wife Robin married in 1980. They came to Friends Church in 1986 when Jerry assumed the position of associate pastor. He became senior pastor in 2005. In 2020, Jerry earned his Doctorate of Ministry degree in Transformational Leadership from Wesley Seminary. His doctoral program included studies in San Diego and England. Jerry retired and became pastor emeritus at the end of 2023.
The Wenger’s enjoy spending time with their children, Kara and Seth (Hannah), and grandchildren. Jerry is a music lover. He enjoys playing guitar. Jerry’s musical talent includes singing. Each year, our church family eagerly anticipates his vocal presentation of “O Holy Night” during the annual Christmas Eve service.
