Who am I? What is my place? Why am I here?
The answers to these questions shape our choices, values, and relationships. But to answer these questions clearly, we must first ask and answer three additional questions.
Who is God? What is the Church? Why was Jesus here?
When we know God, we discover our identity. As we experience life in our church, we find belonging. As we encounter and follow Jesus, we discover our mission.
Our Friends Student Ministry is for youth in 7th through 12th grades and provides a safe place to explore these questions through engaging services, life transforming groups, and fun activities.
What to Expect
On Wednesday nights we meet from 6 PM to 7:30 PM in the Friends Center. We use the Bible to openly discuss topics such as dating, stress, depression, identity, parents, friendships, and more. Wednesday night is the place for you to belong, whether you’re just checking out this whole Jesus thing or you’ve been following Him for your whole life.
On Sunday mornings we connect at 11 AM with others who are interested in knowing Jesus’ love more deeply. Worship and teaching is following by small group discussions and prayer times that allow us to unpack what’s going on in our lives. You will leave energized and ready to tackle another week.
Nobody wants to feel alone. “Meeting Up” provides you with opportunities to build friendships, enjoy food, participate in fun activities, and have great conversations. Meeting Ups include offering service to our community, going bowling, watching movies, taking trips to parks, grabbing an ice-cream cone, or hanging out at the mall. Activities may be planned weeks in advance, or announced by a text or a tweet the day of the event. We enjoy spending time with whoever can meet up with us.
Youth Explosion/Winter Retreat/Friends Youth United
Retreats and conferences get you away from everyday life to focus on your relationship with God. Youth Explosion features some of the best bands in the country and a nationally-known speaker. Winter Retreat challenges teens to be extreme followers of Jesus. (And there is an air band competition!) Friends Youth United is a summer conference held at Malone University. Teens from regional Friends Churches gather for worship, inspirational speakers, games, competitions, and prizes.
This monthly training helps high school students develop leadership skills and make an impact on their school campuses through Bible studies, worship, and service projects.
We look forward to getting to know you. Contact Youth Pastor, Brian Pettit at email@example.com for more details.
